At this point, Christmas should be totally under wraps. Literally. It’s December 22nd at the time of this writing, so if you don’t have your presents cozying up with their reciprocal buddies under the tree you either aren’t celebrating this holiday, or you’re the guy who does most of his shopping at 11:30 PM in the closest gas station to your house. So, on to New Year’s! It’s the religion-neutral, last chance to party this year, and your only chance to start 2012 with a hangover. This year, I’d like you to seriously consider getting yourself and your fellow celebrants into a Calgary hotel room for the occasion, and here’s why:

If you’re celebrating New Year’s in Calgary, then you’re probably going to be downtown. The fireworks are at Olympic Plaza, the best parties are in the Hotel Arts (another fine Calgary Hotel) and the Roadhouse, and downtown Calgary has a ridiculous concentration of Cafe’s per block, which really helps for the aforementioned hangover.
Like I just said. You’re already in downtown calgary. Why drive when you can walk? Or just take a $5 cab ride to where you need to go. It makes being a responsible driver easy, and being a Designated Driver hard (but in a good way).
Please don’t take this as a license to destroy your hotel room Rock Star style. Please don’t. But, just think about not having to deal with the pre-drinking empties. Or trying to figure out what those stains on the carpet are and where they came from and how you’re going to get them out.

The answers to those questions are: Booze, Someone’s Mouth, New Carpet
This is also the main reason why the Nuvo Hotel Suites, unlike other Calgary hotels, has waxed concrete floors in our rooms.
Jonathan Meier is the Online Marketing and Social Media Coordinator who is urging you to donate to you moustached peers for Movember. Do it for Nuvo Hotel Suites, a small boutique hotel in downtown Calgary, Alberta (to learn more about the Nuvo peruse the rest of the site, or check out our Facebook Page). When he’s not at his desk, he’s usually out in the mountains near his hometown of Canmore where he can be seen climbing, skiing, or doing anything at all that doesn’t involve computers.
