Business travellers being stuck for things to do on their weekends in Calgary is something we see a lot at our little boutique hotel in downtown Calgary. But, next weekend has a big bright spot in it for anyone who’s a little bored of going to the movies. Starting on Friday, May 27th and continuing on through the weekend is the Calgary International Beer Festival.
No. It’s not this BeerFest, thank God.
If you’re a fan of beer, then this event is for you. There will be more than 200 different beers there, so you can increase your beer knowledge and maybe even find a new favourite. There’s also going to some beer seminars there to help you attain the net level of connoisseur. You can also vote for the People’s Choice awards, and of course there will be food there. You’ll also get an official Calgary International Beerfest sample mug.
To get your tickets you have a couple of options. You can get them at the door for $25, or buy them in advance through the website at $19. The sampling works through the purchase of Sample Tokens. They go for 50 cents apiece and are sold in bundles of 10. Most samples will cost you 3 tokens($1.50), but some of the rarer import beers can be a bit more expensive.
Jonathan Meier is the Online Marketing and Social Media Coordinator for Nuvo Hotel Suites, a small boutique hotel in downtown Calgary, Alberta (to learn more about the Nuvo peruse the rest of the site, or check out our Facebook Page). When he’s not at his desk, he’s usually out in the mountains near his hometown of Canmore where he can be seen climbing, skiing, or doing anything at all that doesn’t involve computers.
