Theatre Calgary is this city's oldest professional theatre company. It was founded in 1968 out of an amateur theatre company called MAC 14 that staged short plays and musical excerpts out of a converted tractor house. Today, the company stages musicals as well as classic and contemporary plays featuring local actors, designers and directors. The theatre seats 750 and puts on seven shows from fall through spring including the holiday favourite, Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Group rates, senior's Saturday matinees and student rates are available to make the theatre accessible for all.

Artists of the World Art Gallery and Events Centre

The Artists of the World Art Gallery and Events Centre is a restored 20,000 square foot historic building that features up to 50 artists at a time. The gallery has private lounges, two theatres, a dance floor, large open areas to accommodate parties and presentations, and numerous interactive plasma screens. The centre can host up to 600 people. The gallery showcases both international and local artists with an eclectic range of memorabilia, vintage pieces and even some rare motorcycles. The inventory of fine art is rotated regularly keeping the gallery exciting.
